Breast Cancer Diagnosis

Breast Cancer Diagnosis

After my breast cancer diagnosis, I would like to say I turned to the Lord, but I didn’t. Instead, I read everything I could get my hands on about breast cancer. I felt like I was cramming for the most important exam of my life. And I questioned why God allowed this to happen, now that my new husband and I were so happy. Hadn’t God just promised that He had a wonderful plan for my life and Bob’s? I also questioned what I had done to get cancer -- maybe too much coffee, or wine, or stress, or the estrogen therapy I had been on for five years since my hysterectomy. I felt terrible that I was going to put Bob through another battle with cancer. He had just lost his daughter to the disease.

When I received my breast cancer diagnosis, I should have claimed this one…

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight.
Do not be wise in your own eyes;
Fear the Lord and shun evil.
This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones.
(Proverbs 3:5-8)

Weeping may endure for a night,
but joy comes in the morning.
(Psalm 30:5)

They that sow in tears,
shall reap in joy.
(Psalm 126:5)

A Prayer for the Breast Cancer Diagnosis…

When rough the path from day to day,
When sorrows fill our eyes with tears,
Our choice to find our joy in Christ
Can soothe our soul and calm our fears.

What do you think?
We have all sinned and deserve God’s judgment. God, the Father, sent His only Son to satisfy that judgment for those who believe in Him. Jesus, the creator and eternal Son of God, who lived a sinless life, loves us so much that He died for our sins, taking the punishment that we deserve, was buried, and rose from the dead according to the Bible. If you truly believe and trust this in your heart, receiving Jesus alone as your Savior, declaring, "Jesus is Lord," you will be saved from judgment and spend eternity with God in heaven.

What is your response?

Yes, I want to follow Jesus

I am a follower of Jesus

I still have questions

How can I know God?

If you died, why should God let you into heaven?
