Total Surrender to God

Total Surrender to God

It was all about total surrender to God! I decided to retire from teaching to eliminate the biggest stress from my life. This was not an easy decision, as I loved teaching and I thought I might start acting sick if I gave up this “normal” part of my life. After training many Stephen Ministers to care, one-on-one, for people in crisis, I now had my own Stephen Minister. She came over the evening before I had to make the decision about retirement and prayed with me. We then walked along the beach as I talked through my indecision. When she left I had decided not to retire, but two hours later after more prayer and talking with my son and husband, and looking at the retirement package again, which included medical insurance until age 65, I decided to do it. But my husband still had to drag me to the district office the next day to sign the papers. However, as soon as I signed, I knew without any doubt that it was the right decision. I would spend the rest of my life in total surrender to God.

Show me thy ways, O Lord;
Teach me thy paths.
Lead me in the truth and teach me;
For thou art the God of my salvation;
On thee do I wait all the day.

(Psalm 25:4)

Total Surrender to God…

Dear God,

I’ve been busy in the process of retiring from 33 years of teaching and searching for alternative cures for my cancer. I know that my faith in God’s healing power is my best alternative. I’m sorry my priorities have focused on other methods of healing. Please guide me, give me your peace, and help me reach out to others with your love and peace. I am thankful that you opened the doors to my retirement. I give you the rest of my life…

I have refined you, but not with silver;
I have chosen you in the furnace of affliction.
I am the Lord your God, who teaches you to profit,
Who leads you by the way that you should go.

(Isaiah 48:10,17)

What do you think?
We have all sinned and deserve God’s judgment. God, the Father, sent His only Son to satisfy that judgment for those who believe in Him. Jesus, the creator and eternal Son of God, who lived a sinless life, loves us so much that He died for our sins, taking the punishment that we deserve, was buried, and rose from the dead according to the Bible. If you truly believe and trust this in your heart, receiving Jesus alone as your Savior, declaring, "Jesus is Lord," you will be saved from judgment and spend eternity with God in heaven.

What is your response?

Yes, I want to follow Jesus

I am a follower of Jesus

I still have questions

How can I know God?

If you died, why should God let you into heaven?
